When reflecting on our Christian values we ask ourselves 'What would Jesus do?'. This helps children and staff to apply our values into our everyday lives:

Love - Jesus’ love knew no bounds as he gave his life to save us all. He especially cared for children telling his followers to “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them!” |
|
Inspire - Jesus’ life and teachings can inspire us to live by his example. |

Perseverance - Jesus did good in all he did persevering through difficult times, showing us that doing good and right is our most important job. |

Each of our values also has a bible passage linked with it so that when we explore our values in Collective Worship children and staff can apply our value to a story from the bible:
Love - In the parable of the Good Samaritan - Luke 10 25-37 - Jesus said we should Love our Neighbour, in other words we should care for each other.
Reflection - When we act with love it shows through in what we say and how we act towards others.
Reflection Questions:
Why do you think the Samaritan helped the man?
What does love mean to you?
Can you think of a time when you helped someone?
How can we show love to our friends and family every day?
Inspire - In the story of David and Goliath – 1 Samuel 17 1-58 - David was inspired by God to do an incredibly brave thing; this act inspired his whole nation to turn back to God and trust in him.
Reflection - God created an awesome world for us to live in that provides for all our needs, be inspired by this creation to help look after our world. Also the staff want to Inspire you to become life long learners.
Reflection Questions:
Who inspires you, and why?
How can you be brave like David and inspire others?
What can you do to help look after God’s world?
How can you inspire others by being a great learner?
Perseverance - In the parable of the Lost Sheep - Luke 15 3-6 – Jesus is like the shepherd in the story, and we are like the sheep.
Reflection - Jesus watches over us and helps protect us from danger. He doesn’t give up on us when we make mistakes.
Reflection Questions:
Why do you think he didn’t give up looking for the sheep?
Can you think of a time when you didn’t give up? What happened?
How can you show perseverance in your schoolwork or friendships?
Why is it important to keep trying, even when things are difficult?
Respect - In Jonah 1–3 – Jonah didn’t respect God’s request and tried to run away; eventually he realised he should follow God’s commands and by showing God respect helped to save a whole city of people.
Reflection - God wants us to think and act in a way that shows others you care about their feelings and well-being. He has also asked us to look after our planet – respect for the environment in our daily lives is key.
Reflection Questions:
Jonah didn’t respect God’s instructions at first — what happened when he ran away?
How did Jonah show respect to God when he prayed in the big fish?
The people of Nineveh listened to God’s warning — how did they show respect?
What can we do each day to show respect to God and to other people?
